Koenigsegg Jesko, the world's first 300 MPH Car?
Wossup! So one of the highlights for my first ever Geneva International auto show was the new Koenigsegg Jesko. Here is what I found out.
The new Koenigsegg Jesko named after Christian Von Koenigsegg's father (a super nice touch) was launched at the 2019 Geneva International Motor Show. Formerly known as the Ragnarok the car could be the world's first 300 MPH Car. How do you think Bugatti is feeling right about now?
I was lucky enough to get up close and personal with the new egg and OMG! What an insane car it is. You could say the Jesko is pretty much very much loved after asking the opinions of YouTuber Alexs Molik and Nico, known on instagram as @Nico.spot, both franchies feature in my video above.
The Koenigsegg Jesko has one hell of an engine to help it get to the 300 mile per hour target, a really dope trick is the fact that like its twin-turbo V8 engine the engine sort of lives a double life, allow moistures to explain.
You see that twin turbo V8 can drink regular gasoline which is good for a very respectable 1280 horsepower if some reason that isn’t enough for you then you can feed it southing called E85, this something gives your fresh new egg superpowers, how does 1600 horsepower worth of superpowers sound? That is an insane amount of raw power which can apparently power the whole of Sweden for a year. Cough, cough, cough.
You’d think all that biblical power had to be stuffed into the Koenigsegg because it was a bit fat and heavy but you’d be totally wrong, you see Christian Von Koenigsegg takes weight saving really really seriously to the point where titanium screws which cost serious money are used instead of boring old regular screws used by other manufacturers so the Ragnarok, sorry I mean Jesko could save a total of 1KG.
The whole car weights a skinny 1400kg and it can also produce the same amount of downforce from some clever aero and that big wang of a wing which makes the Jesko the ultimate track destroyer and its all legal baby!
With a total weight of 1400KG and that massive 1600 horsepower, I guess you can work out the power to weight ratio for yourself.
One of Koenigsegg’s reps told me the Jesko actually has a faster less downforce loving sister if all you want is outright speed.
I can’t talk about all that power without talking about the gearbox, how about a new Koenigsegg developed 9-speed gearbox which can shift between any gear in just 20 milliseconds?
I will leave you with that thought, let it marinate a bit.
